That's right yall. It's my Bri Slay or should I say birthday and Slaytember has officially gotten slayed.
Purpose Driven

This is something we often battle with, figuring out our purpose. Though material things sometimes makes us feel purpose driven. I can tell you from experience that is the least. I've spent a great deal of my life trying to figure out my purpose. After having my daughter, I can finally say that I have discovered that purpose. All that is required of us is to love each other. If you don't have this basic requirement, I'm sorry to tell you but you have not even scratched the surface of figuring out your true purpose. We often times look for validation from others, when the only true validation you need is that of yourself.
Many of us tend to reflect on our lives at the end of the year prior to the new year. As we like to refer to it as our new year resolution. However, I tend to reflect on my life, the things I've accomplished, and my goals for the future around this time of the year when celebrating my birthday. It is a time where I can unwind, breath easy, give thanks, and prepare for the future. It is my new year resolution.
This year I feel extremely blessed. I am Thankful for health, strength, my growing family, and friends. There is a lot to be thankful for.
The Show Goes On
This year's birthday had me preparing for Hurricane Dorian but I am so relieved that we dodged it this time around. My prayers are with The Bahamas as they have suffered tremendous losses due to the hurricane. I can't imagine what you guys are going through. I've been there on vacation and I am at a lost for words. I am hoping for the best for the states that are currently in its pathway. I am praying for you all. Stay safe.

Enough of that, lets get into this look. You guys know how much I love themes. This was no different. I really enjoyed putting pieces together for this photoshoot. I must say I had so much fun shooting my birthday photos this year. My goal is to always be a positive representation of Melanin to my daughter, nieces, nephews, students, and simply all those who I have influences in some way shape or form.
Slaytember
I apologize for flooding this blog post and my timeline with so many pictures but keep calm, it's Slaytember anyways, so I have the right to flood this blog all month long. As you may or may not know, to celebrate Slaytember I am covering style, fashion, and beauty content all month long.
