This is something we often battle with, figuring out our purpose. Though material things sometimes makes us feel purpose driven. I can tell you from experience that is the least. I've spent a great deal of my life trying to figure out my purpose. After having my daughter, I can finally say that I have discovered that purpose. All that is required of us is to love each other. If you don't have this basic requirement, I'm sorry to tell you but you have not even scratched the surface of figuring out your true purpose. We often times look for validation from others, when the only true validation you need is that of yourself.

Many of us tend to reflect on our lives at the end of the year prior to the new year. As we like to refer to it as our new year resolution. However, I tend to reflect on my life, the things I've accomplished, and my goals for the future around this time of the year when celebrating my birthday. It is a time where I can unwind, breath easy, give thanks, and prepare for the future. It is my new year resolution.

Last year this time I was pregnant. I remember purchasing birthday outfits but I ended up canceling all my birthday plans. I was so nauseous that I did not feel like getting dressed, going anywhere, or doing anything. I remember feeling excited and nervous at the same time. Here I was expecting my first child, so elated. On the other hand preparing for a automatic high risk pregnancy. On top of that the stress that starts with embarking on a new career as a educator.

This year I feel extremely blessed as #babygirl will be 5 months old in just a few days. Happy 5 Months #babygirl! Mommy loves you dearly. Thankful for health, strength, my growing family, and friends. Also, I want to celebrate my new career journey in higher education. There is a lot to be thankful for.

Enough of that, lets get into this look. I'm getting that Old Hollywood, Classic, Marilyn Monroe vibe in this look. I went with all black because lets face it, you can never go wrong with black. Black is so universal. The evening gown gives off a retro spin. It is sophisticate yet sexy. I loved the stretchy material and how it hugs my curves. The heel adds a bit of a flair to the look. It give a flirty feel to the entire look. I went with the gloves to tie into this Old Hollywood theme. The clutch purse screams classy from a mile away. The jewelry adds a much needed glitz and glam to this entire look. Of course I had to finish the look off with ocean wave styled hair and a smokey eye makeup application. Perfect for the theme I was going for.

Oh and did you know that, Beyonce' and I share the same birthday? Yes that's right, we are birthday twins. That says a whole lot. Happy Birthday Bey.' And there you have it 2 Queen Bs' were born.

I apologize for flooding this blog post with so many pictures but when your photographer/husband put his heart and shoul into your shots you can literally feel the love. Hence this was the result. 90% of the shots came out great with minimal deletes, and he snatches this slay with 2 different edits that you cant even choose one. Keep calm, its Bre Slay anyways, so I have the right to flood this blog all month long.
